After a powerful winter finale, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is gearing up for its midseason return March 3. Now, Marvel has revealed that the team will be returning with a new addition. Luke Mitchell (“The Tomorrow People,” “H20: Just Add Water”) will be playing a new character called Lincoln. According to Marvel’s announcement, Lincoln is “a charismatic Inhuman… who has an important part to play in Skye’s understanding the true extent of her transformation”.
“With the revelations surrounding Skye’s true identity in the Winter Finale, we knew we’d be introducing more Inhumans as our story progressed,” says Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “The charming energy Luke brings to the role that will make him a character to watch as we continue our season.”
While the Lincoln name doesn’t immediately recall any notable Inhumans from the comic books, Marvel has been pretty tricky so far when it comes to slipping in established character under the radar. If you’ve got an theories as to who Lincoln might be, let us know in the comments below!
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is also executive Produced by Joss Whedon (Marvel’s The Avengers, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”); Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, (“Dollhouse,” “Dr.Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” and Jeffrey Bell (“Angel,” “Alias”).
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” is produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios. Look for its returns on Tuesday, March 3 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
