Asus has launched another tablet in its VivoTab range, just a week after its similar IFA launches. The VivoTab 8 is visibly similar Windows 8.1 tablet to the VivoTab Note 8 from February, and though it loses the Wacom digitizer and has the same 8-inch 1280×800 display, Asus has made a number of changes to the tablet’s internal specifications.
A quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.86GHz is running the 8.8mm-thick (0.34 inches), 330g (11.6 ounces) tablet, with either 1GB or 2GB of RAM depending on the market, and 32GB of storage supported by 16GB of cloud storage. On the front and back are 2-megapixel cameras, with the tablet also having Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, a microSD card reader, stereo speakers, and a claimed 8-hour battery life.
Though Asus has not provided a release date nor a price for the VivoTab 8, it is likely to be similarly priced to the VivoTab Note 8, which can be found online for around $250.
