Rumors were claiming that Microsoft would be launching a web-based version of their Xbox Music service and it seems the service is now live. Subscribers can access the service at music.xbox.com with the company also offering a 1-month free trial to non-paying Xbox fans.

The web-interface is very similar to the one found in the new Windows 8.1 Xbox Music app, though it does lack some of the bells and whistles. Xbox Music can be accessed through any browser on multiple machines with the service picking up exactly where you left off.

Until now Xbox Music was only accessible Windows 8, the Xbox 360, Windows Phones and Windows RT, but now the launch of the web service does a lot to enhance Microsoft’s music offering, with Xbox Music now being available to virtually anyone, on any device. Alongside the recent updates to the service itself, and to the Windows Xbox Music app this roll-out proves once again that Microsoft is determined to make Xbox Music a winning service.
