ZTE Obsidian Hits on T-Mobile August 13

T-Mobile today revealed the ZTE Obsidian, a compact entry-level Android smartphone.

The Obsidian features a 4.5-inch screen with 854 by 480 resolution and a 1GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. The Obsidian has a 5-megapixel main camera with flash and a 2-megapixel user-facing camera.

The phone supports T-Mobile’s LTE 4G network and WiFi Calling feature, and has Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and WiFi. The Obsidian is limited to 4 GB of on-board storage, but it supports microSD memory cards up to 32 GB.

It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and costs $4.17 for 24 months or $99.99 at full retail. It goes on sale online and in stores beginning Aug. 13.
