YouTube has just detailed a new application for Sony’s PlayStation 3 gaming console. The app should up the experience of the movie-sharing resource, which was always accessible through Sony’s Flash-ready browser. The app will also allow users to use their smartphones to control the playback on the big screen.
The app brings with it a new interface and instant results as users type. Users will have the ability to sign in and view their subscriptions, favorites, Watch Laters, and channels.
The app will allow Android and iOS smartphones/devices on the same Wi-Fi network as the host PS3 to control the app. HD video playback will be supported as well, though whether 1080p will be supported remains to be seen.
The app is said to be available later on Tuesday, though as of the time of publishing wasn’t yet available, at least in Canada.
