AT&T and Yahoo! announced that beginning today Yahoo! oneSearch powers mobile Internet searches made through AT&T’s on-deck MEdia Net portal. AT&T is the first U.S. carrier to integrate Yahoo!’s innovative mobile search service directly into their portal.

“Our customers want mobile search to be convenient and intuitive, and Yahoo! oneSearch is an important step for us in delivering that level of experience to them,” said Michael Bowling, vice president–Converged Services, AT&T.

Yahoo! oneSearch will provide customers who search AT&T MEdia Net with access to news, financial information, weather conditions, Flickr photos and Web images, as well as Web and mobile web sites. Yahoo! oneSearch will also display relevant ringtones, wallpaper, games and other content available in the AT&T MEdia Mall within search results, eliminating the need for customers to search within a separate window for downloadable content. AT&T’s  Yellowpages.com  will provide local search information to customers as part of the agreement.

“Yahoo! oneSearch has proven to be one of the leading mobile Internet search products on the market, and Yahoo! has been successful in partnering with carriers globally,” said Scott Ellison, vice president, Mobile & Wireless Communications, IDC. “This partnership with AT&T will enable Yahoo! to reach tens of millions of mobile Internet users in the United States and provide advertisers with reach and scale.”
