Xfire today announced its new video capture update to the Xfire software. Allowing users to capture unlimited gameplay footage and seamlessly upload it to their Xfire profile page, the video capture tool also provides the ability for users to add tags and comments.

After downloading the Windows program, all it takes is a simple “scroll lock + V” keystroke and Xfire users are on their way to sharing their gaming prowess with the world.

The Xfire video capture tool allows users to record unlimited high-quality gameplay footage at its original resolution.

MTV Network, the owners of the web site, hope that gamers will start demanding footage of great game play claims by other gamers.  “Xfire Video, or it didn’t happen.”

Xfire has also enhanced its Web site too. The recently re-launched website provides users an instant “Activity Report” of their top friends, Clans & Guilds management tools and a streamlined integration of stats, videos and screen shots between the gaming application and their profile pages.

With Vimeo deciding they are no longer going to allow gaming videos, this could be great timing for Xfire.

The free 5MB Xfire application, including easy-to-use video capture is free and available to download now on  http://www.xfire.com. Sorry Mac people this is an Windows only app.
