Microsoft has stripped off its own Kinect-based workout app, ready to burn off some calories on Xbox One. Xbox Fitness will step up (and down, and up) sometime this holiday, offering interactive exercise sessions based on workout videos from renowned trainers like Jillian Michaels, Tracy Anderson, Tony Horton and Shaun T.

Xbox Fitness offers similar feedback-based, personalized workouts to previous Xbox 360 Kinect games, but with some added extras courtesy of the new Kinect, like heart rate tracking. It’ll also integrate with Xbox Live through awards and friends-based challenges.

The app will stay free for Gold members through to December 2014, although the fine print notes some additional content will be “available for purchase.” Starting January 2015, unlimited access will also require a Xbox Fitness subscription as well as Gold membership.
