They call it Worms Battlegrounds, and it’s coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this month. Team 17 brings familiar fights to new consoles on May 30 in Europe, while in North America it’s May 30 for Xbox One and June 3 for PlayStation 4.
The intemperate invertebrates have 10 new weapons in their latest outing, including the intriguingly titled Winged Monkey, Gravedigger, and The Equalizer. On the single-player side there are 25 story missions and 10 time attack missions, while multiplayer brings four-player deathmatch and fort modes in both local and online varieties.
That’s all well and good, but the console-specific features are where it’s at. On Xbox One players can use SmartGlass to keep track of stats (there’s a companion site for PS4), while on Sony’s console the DualShock light bar changes color depending on the status of your worm. Ladies and gentlemen, the next generation has arrived.
