Vogue Cover Exclusive is out for the iPad, Full Vogue Magazine is still MIA

Vogue has released its first-ever iPad application, Vogue Cover Exclusive. The title concentrates narrowly on the magazine’s cover subjects, documenting them in articles and photo collections. Beyond paper or web content the app offers videos, extra interviews and alternate images.

Inaugurating the first edition is Lady Gaga. Examples of bonuses include outtakes from her photo shoot, a behind-the-scenes video, and an audio diary recorded by Jonathan Van Meter while following Gaga on tour. The app costs 99 cents, and will run on any version of the iPad firmware.

Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, which was once banned under an Apple rule against third-party development tools, was used to make Vogue Cover Exclusive. It is still unknown is whether the full version of Vogue will eventually appear on the iPad even with subscription support.
