Venom has earned over $95 million in its opening weekend haul.
That is somewhat insane business, the strongest opening day ever for a solo superhero film in China and the second-biggest for any superhero movie after “Avengers: Infinity War”.
Its box office take on the first day in China, $34.2 million, beat out comic based blockbusters like Captain America: Civil War, Ant-Man and the Wasp and Black Panther. It is the biggest opening day ever for a solo superhero film (antihero in Venom case) in China and the second-biggest for any superhero movie after Avengers: Infinity War.
