Vault Comics To Launch New Young Adult Imprint

Following the lead of publishers including Lion Forge and DC Entertainment, independent comic book company Vault Comics will launch a brand-new imprint aimed at middle grade and young adult readers in 2019.

The imprint, Myriad, will feature both full-length graphic novels and serialized titles from established creators as well as new voices breaking into the industry. The line will be headed up by Vault co-founder and editor-in-chief Adrian Wassel and vp branding and design Tim Daniel.

Vault Comics was created in 2016 with the intent of providing a new wave of science fiction and fantasy stories to readers and expanding upon diversity in comic books, both on the page and behind the scenes. Multiple titles by Daniel are currently in development by Hitman: Agent 47 producer Adrian Askarieh and Silver Fox Entertainment.

In a statement Tuesday, Daniel said, “Young readers want to make their own heroes — so our heroes must be equally reflective of all of us, representing who we are broadly and as individuals. A seismic shift in readers’ attitudes and expectations requires a myriad of choices — both in format and content. The name of our new line expressly conveys our goal, and what we are delivering to readers.”

Added Wassel: “Current Vault fans will enjoy the selfsame care and craft in Myriad — and now their kids can, too. The idea is simple: Tell stories just as daring, just as beloved, and just as relevant as those coming out of Vault, but for an even wider audience.”

The first Myriad titles will be announced in November.
