An updated version of the official PlayStation 3 remote control will be arriving in “late October”, according to Sony.
The upcoming PS3 peripheral, which bears a great resemblance to Sony’s Bravia TV remote controls, will be compatible with a multitude of the hardware giant’s products as well as the PS3 – including televisions and Sony amplifiers.
It has also recently been revealed that the remote can be used to work with the Netflix service now available for PS3 owners in the U.S.
To accommodate the multiple functions of the upcoming PS3 remote, new volume and channel buttons are added to the base of the unit.
No official price tag has been revealed at this time, but the device is expected to retail for around $25-$30
