Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy, who received the BAFTA Fellowship Award on Sunday, spoke with The BBC on the red carpet and touched upon the status of the fifth Indiana Jones film.

Kennedy, who co-founded Amblin Entertainment with Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall, confirmed to the outlet that the next film will be a continuation of the Harrison Ford-led films and not a reboot which is eventually expected of the franchise.

Kennedy says:

“We’re working away, getting the script where we want it to be and then we’ll be ready to go. Harrison Ford will be involved… It’s not a reboot. It’s a continuation.”

She added that Ford “can’t wait” to get started on the movie.

The four films in the series so far are just shy of two billion dollars at the global box office take.
