Twitter Updates Search Android and iOS Apps

Twitter SearchTwitter today announced updates to both its Android and iOS mobile applications, as well as its web site, that are meant improve the service’s search capabilities.

First, all the content that appears under the Discover tab is now streamed in a single column.

The Search function now delivers a mix of results that include tweets, people, and photos all together, rather than separately. The Connect tab has also been reorganized and will now by default show users all their interactions (mentions, messages, etc.).
Last, users now only need click on links embedded in tweets one (rather than twice) to go directly to content shared in the tweet.

The updates to the Android iOS applications will be available from the Google Play Store and from iTunes today.
