Toshiba has announced its new Satellite series laptops. Entry-level Satellite C600 series, Satellite L700 series, and premium Satellite P700 Series laptops will begin shipping later this month. The Satellite L700 and P700 series offer the choice of Intel Core processors or AMD’s new A-series mobile APUs. The Satellite C600 series uses AMD’s Bobcat processors exclusively.
The Satellite L700 and P700 Series consist of four models with HD widescreen displays ranging from 13.3 to 17.3 inches. The L700 and P700 series also have a feature that enables users to charge mobile devices even if the laptop is turned off.
The Satellite P700 series feature such premium touches as harman/kardon speakers with sound enhancements from Dolby and Waves Audio, an HDMI port, and a USB 3.0 port. Storage options are available up to 750GB. Some models will also have the option of Intel wireless display, 4G WiMAX, and a Blu-ray player.
A 3D model, the Satellite P750 3D, comes with a 15.6-inch 3D-ready HD display and one pair of wireless active shutter glasses. The P750 is also capable of 2D-to-3D DVD movie conversion or output to a 3D HDTV.
The Satellite L700 series, for mainstream users, will be available in Graphite, Silver, White, Red and Brown. A new smudge-resistant finish, Brushed Aluminum Blue, is available for some models. Some configurations of the L700 series have the option of a Blu-ray player and HDMI port.
The Satellite C600 Series laptops are aimed at budget-conscious buyers. Options include either 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch widescreen display and AMD C-50 and E-350 APUs. Options include up to 640GB storage, 4GB of DDR3 memory, and a DVD Super-Multi drives.
The premium Satellite P700 Series will be available beginning June 21, 2011. The Satellite P750 3D will be available for a starting price of $1,200. The 14-inch Satellite P745 starts at $700, while the 15-inch Satellite P755 and 17.3-inch P775 start at $630.
The Toshiba Satellite L735 has a 13.3-inch HD display and starts at $500. The Toshiba Satellite L745 Series laptops have 14-inch HD displays and start at $450. The Toshiba Satellite L755 Series laptops have 15.6-inch HD displays and start at $484. Satellite L775 Series laptops have 17.3-inch HD displays, and start at $580.
The Satellite C600 Series laptops will start at $380.
Toshiba expects to ship the L700 and C600 series by late June.
