Ting has dropped data prices across the board in order to makes its service more appealing to month-by-month customers.
Ting allows users to mix-and-match exactly how many minutes, messages, and megabytes they subscribe to each month. The base access fee is $6 per line per month.
Users then select the separate voice, text, and data plans that best suit their needs. The rates for voice and messaging services remain unchanged, but the data rates are now lower.
For example, the 100 MB plan costs $3 per month, while the 500 MB plan costs $10, the 1 GB plan costs $16, and the 2 GB plan costs $20.
Customers who need more than 2 GB will pay $10 more for each gigabyte. The new rates go into effect today.
