Xbox One Backwards Compatibility continues to expand at a steady rate in 2016, with even more new games planned to be added in the coming months.

Last week saw a splurge of titles arrive for the next-gen console, a range of arcade titles, along with some special Star Wars picks.

Microsoft say they no longer hold titles to certain release dates but instead launch them whenever they’re ready to play.

This has been the case for the past couple of months, 25 new titles have been confirmed in April and May, with the likes of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed I & II proving to be some of the most requested.

Recently added games to Xbox One Backwards Compatibility in May include DIG DUG, Samurai Shodown II, Phantasy Star II, Sonic & Knuckles & Runner2.

And new retail listings appear to have shed light on at least three new games joining the program in the near future, Crackdown 2, SSX and Halo 3: ODST.

According to several recent posts, digital codes for all three games will be released in June and July and all will be Xbox One Backwards Compatible.

The pages have since been altered or removed so it could be that this was a simple mistake, or information released a little too early.

Halo 3: ODST was listed as being campaign only with a June 7 release date attached, SSX was listed for June 14 and Crackdown 2 for July 1.

The three titles have varying degrees of popularity on the Xbox feedback page, over 30,000 have voted for Halo 3: ODST, over 15,000 for Crackdown 2 and over 10,000 for SSX.

Microsoft are unlikely to confirm any new launches ahead of time and it is expected that some pretty big projects could be announced at E3.

Whether we see a big Red Dead 2 reveal could affect the chances of Red Dead Redemption’s inclusion in the BC program.

RDR is known to have been tested by the Microsoft team for Backwards Compatibility, however reports earlier this year indicated that a HD remaster of the game could be released by Rockstar alongside a new title.
