Thermaltake Debuts Five New High-Power Toughpower PSUs

Thermaltake’s Toughpower PSUs have already existed for a long time and have become quite an extensive lineup, yet today the company is expanding its arsenal once more. Thermaltake announced five new power supplies – three Toughpower Gold units and two Toughpower Grand Golds.

All five units have plenty in common. They come with quiet cooling implementations, 80-Plus Gold certification, modular designs (with the Grand variants being fully-modular), 100 percent high-quality Japanese capacitors, and a single-rail 12 V design. All of the units come with a number of power connectors for multi-GPU setups, and they are all Haswell certified. Thermaltake has rated the PSUs with an MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) of a respectable 120,000 hours.

The main differences between the Toughpower and the Toughpower Grand seriesare their appearance and the fact that the latter units are known to be a little tougher, able to operate in slightly harsher environmental conditions and capable of handling higher short-interval peak outputs.

The three Toughpower units come in 1000 W, 1200 W, and 1500 W variants, while the Toughpower Grand units can push up to 1050 W and 1200 W, nominally.

Thermaltake has not revealed official pricing, although the units can already be found on Newegg for purchase. The Toughpower 1000 W, 1200 W and 1500 W are priced at $189.99, $199.99 and $299.99, respectively. The Toughpower Grand 1050 W and 1200 W units can be bought for $174.99 and $224.99.
