The Street Has Vanessa Kirby Boarding The New Batman Film

Vanessa Kirby (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Hobbs and Shaw) is rumored to be one of the contenders for the role of Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Matt Reeves’ The Batman according to a Geeks Worldwide report.

The site offers no further information than that other than stressing no formal talks have taken place. The site was the first to break the news that Nicholas Hoult was a contender to land the lead role of Bruce Wayne/Batman before later being confirmed by the trades. Robert Pattinson eventually beat out Hoult to land the lead role.

31-year-old Kirby is one of the first names linked to a key villain role in the film and certainly won’t be the last as casting for parts including The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and more are all expected to take place before the year’s out and so multiple rumors will no doubt surface before then.

Filming on the new Batman project kicks off around the beginning of 2020 for a June 2021 release.
