Illumination Entertainment’s The Grinch proved an early holiday treat with the CG animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss title scoring $66 million in its opening weekend at the box-office.
Costing only $75 million to make, the film came in just shy of their last Seuss adaptation The Lorax ($70 million) in first weekend box office totals.
Bohemian Rhapsody retained the second spot with a solid $30.9 million in its second weekend
Overlord and The Girl In the Spider’s Web opened this weekend with ticket sales of $10 million in third and $8 million in fifth respectively.
