The CW Planning To Reboot Kung Fu

The CW has set development Kung Fu series based on the 1970s David Carradine martial arts western series. The twist will be the central charter this time will be a young woman. This isn’t the first time a reboot has been in the works, even some the producers are the same.

In 1993 a followup series, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues came to be and ran for 4 season. In that series, Kwai Chang Caine, ( Kung Fu: the Movie), was united with the son he never knew he had in the turn-of-the-century Wild West. in The Legend Continues, the son of that son, also named Kwai Chang Caine (David Carradine), must emerge from seclusion to save the son he thought lost.

When she returns to find her hometown overrun with crime and corruption, she uses her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justiceā€¦ all while searching for the assassin who killed her Shaolin mentor and is now targeting her.

Christina M. Kim and Martin Gero (Blindspot) along with CW mainstays Greg Berlanti & Sarah Schechter will executive produce.
