Pure Flix and Paramount Pictures have released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming film Same Kind of Different As Me. The film stars Academy Award winners Renée Zellweger (Bridget Jones’s Diary) and Jon Voight (Ray Donovan), and Academy Award nominees Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine) and Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond). The film is based on the 2006 novel, “Same Kind of Different As Me: A Modern-Day Slave, an International Art Dealer, and the Unlikely Woman Who Bound Them Together,” by Ron Hall and Denver Moore, with Lynn Vincent. The book hit the New York Times Best Seller list in January of 2009. The full trailer for the film will be released next month.

The Same Kind of Different As Me is directed by Michael Carney, who wrote and directed the short film Jew and the feature Thirty Eight, which is in pre-production. The film is written by Carney, Alexander Foard, Ron Hall (book and screenplay), Denver Moore (book) and Lynn Vincent (book). It’s produced by Cale Boyter, Ron Hall, Stephen D. Johnston, Darren Moorman and Mary Parent.
Same Kind of Different As Me will hit theaters on October 20, 2017.
