TACS Games Brings Puzzler Factotum to the Wii U

The Wii U eShop is brimming with indie games, but TACS Games’ upcoming sci-fi puzzler — Factotum — looks like it could be one of the most unique titles available on the store with it’s archaic visuals and brainteasing puzzles.

TACS Games is a one man indie game development studio producing “unusual games with retro flare”. Having previously released a number of titles for portable and mobile devices such as PlayStation Mobile (Console Saga, Super Tank Poker, Shuttle Quest 2k and more), TACS Games is now branching out and focusing on console development, with Factotum being its first venture on a Nintendo system.

In Factotum, players will be tasked with remotely piloting two old service robots through a series of puzzles and mazes. Gameplay is viewed through the “Walker Control Terminal”, and each robot must be guided towards their goal; completing these puzzles will help to unravel the truth of what has happened on-board the abandoned star ship that’s been left adrift in space. Whilst the robots may appear somewhat under-equipped, getting the two of them working together is important in order to solve the mystery and, ultimately, save the ship.

The title can be controlled either with the Wii U Gamepad’s physical buttons or entirely with the touch screen, while it’ll also apparently include off-TV play, Miiverse integration and thirty collectible stamps. No firm pricing or release window details have been given yet.
