Dutch actress Sylvia Hoeks, best known as Jared Leto’s right-hand woman in Blade Runner 2049, will play actress Sylvia Kristel in a biopic from Bullhead director Michael R. Roskam in partnership with Savage Film.
The untitled drama will focus on Kristel’s career in the 1970s and 1980s when the Dutch model became known for the soft-core porn/erotic drama Emmanuelle which became a worldwide phenomenon and franchise launcher in 1974.
She would reprise the role multiple times over the next twenty years.
Her big screen success, however, stood in stark contrast to her troubled personal life which included a series of relationships and a cocaine addiction. Dimitri Verhulst is penning the script and filming will take place in France, Netherlands, Belgium and Los Angeles.
Roskam’s most recent film Racer and the Jailbird opens later this year, as does the Dragon Tattoo sequel “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” which Hoeks is in the key role of Lisbeth Salander’s twin sister.
