Super Meat BoyRock-hard indie platformer Super Meat Boy may be released on Nintendo’s Wii U in the future, according to a message from Team Meat co-founder Tommy Refenes. In a post on the game’s official website, Refenes thanked those involved with the recent release of Super Meat Boy on Playstation 4 and PlayStation Vita, before addressing the Wii U audience.

“To the fan’s we’re still excluding I’ll leave you with this: Wii haven’t forgotten about U.”

Super Meat Boy was first released for Xbox 360 in 2010. Since then it has been made available on most platforms, with the exception of Nintendo’s. A Wii U release would mark the first appearance of Meat Boy on a Nintendo system.

Five years since its initial release, Super Meat Boy launched for PS4 and Vita on Tuesday. As a Cross-Buy title, a single purchase on either of these platforms unlocks it for the other at no additional cost.

PlayStation Plus members, meanwhile, get download the game for free, along with these rest of the PS Plus October lineup.
