SugarSync, a premium service that lets you back up, access, sync and share all files and folders across all your computers and mobile devices, announced today that it will transition to a paid-only service model beginning on February 8, 2014. Customers can still try the SugarSync service with a 90-day 5GB trial or a 30-day trial with upwards of 60GB.

“There are many companies in this space that are giving away free storage, however, most of these companies will not be viable. We are already in a solid financial position and this shift will further strengthen our business,” SugarSync CEO Mike Grossman said of the change. “Also, this change will allow us to better serve loyal customers and expand our service offerings. We’re excited about the next stage in our growth and confident that our customers and new users alike will achieve greater value through these enhancements.”

Prices after the free trial will range from 60GB for $7.49 per month (or $75 per year), to 250GB for $25 a month or $250 per year. Businesses have plans available as well — 1TB for $55 per month or a custom solution can be developed for the user by SugarSync.
