Dalai LamaThe Art of Peace Foundation has announced a collection of songs for the Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday featuring artists like Sting, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush and ELBOW.

“The Art of Peace (#SongsForTibet),” is available for pre-order this week on PLEDGEMUSIC.COM and will be released JULY 6th. This will be the second album created by The Art of Peace Foundation following the huge success of the first in 2008.

THE FOUNDATION was founded on the Dalai Lama’s belief of Universal Responsibility and aims to raise awareness of Tibetan culture. All of the foundation’s fundraising goes towards peace-related missions and Tibetan cultural preservation projects.

“Never before, and perhaps never again, has someone like the Dalai Lama been able to deliver a message of peace and compassion that resonates so deeply across diverse national, religious and ethnic backgrounds around the globe,” commented The Art of Peace Foundation Executive Director MICHAEL WOHL, who originated the project. “The Dalai Lama’s 80th birthday is a wonderful opportunity for the world to recognize and celebrate this.”

The musical offerings have been coordinated by RUPERT HINE, the songwriter and record producer who has worked with hundreds of well-known artists. The remaining artists to feature on the second album will be announced in the coming weeks.

“Following the notable success of ‘HE ART OF PEACE (Songs for TIBET)’ album back in 2008, I have been proud to once again be the musical producer for what is primarily a celebratory musical rejoicing of the Dalai Lama’s 80 years on this planet,” added HINE.

The Art of Peace Foundation’s first album was top on iTUNES across the world.
