Sony Europe has officially revealed a pair of new digital cameras. The first model is the APS-C NEX-3N interchangeable lens camera, which has a 16.1MP Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and is Sony’s entry-level mirrorless camera. The second model, the A58, is a 20.1MP APS HD CMOS device that utilizes A-mount lenses, and offers translucent mirror technology.

The NEX-3N includes a 7.5cm LCD screen for view finding and has a zoom lever on the camera body for fingertip control of focal length with compatible lenses such as the SELP1650 power zoom. The ISO 16000 rating is supplemented with the BIONZ noise reduction processor found in the A99. The camera auto-focuses on 25 points, and can shoot approximately four frames per second in continuous shooting, or 50i/25p AVCHD Full HD video.

The A58 camera’s translucent mirror technology directs light onto the main image sensor as well as a separate autofocus sensor. The camera also uses the BIONZ image processing engine, and is a ISO 16000 device. A 6.7CM LCD displays the 15 point autofocus on the device. The camera is capable of five frames per second in burst shooting and captures AVCHD 1920×1080 at 50i or 25p.

Both cameras will be available in Europe this Spring. Pricing has not been disclosed. No news of a US launch has been announced.
