Sony on Monday released details of its next system software update.Codenamed Shingen, PS4 system software 4.00 will feature more organization options, a refreshed user interface, updates to the Quick Menu, and the ability to view your Trophies offline, among other things.Those participating in Sony’s public beta program will get to try out the new features first. Sony plans to roll out the beta version “soon,” so members should be on the lookout for an email with instructions on how to download the new software.The update will bring “a lot of adjustments and improvements to PS4’s main user interface,” according to a blog post from John Koller, vice president of PlayStation brand marketing. Expect new system backgrounds, a revised Whats New tab, updated pop-up notifications, and redesigned system icons.”As a whole, it all adds up to a more refined and easy to use UI,” Koller wrote. “The overall look and feel of the UI remains the same — it just has a fresh coat of paint.”
