The beta of Snow, the winter sports game from Swedish indie studio Poppermost Productions, is coming Oct. 18 to PlayStation 4, the studio announced today.
Snow’s PS4 beta will include the three modes of play that are currently available on PC: the ability to ski, go snowboarding and ride snowmobiles in an open-world winter playground. However, unlike the PC version, which has been free-to-play since it went into a closed beta in March 2015, the PS4 beta will cost $19.99 as a “Founder’s Pack.” A purchase of the Founder’s Pack comes with more than $30 worth of customizable in-game gear.
Poppermost initially charged for Snow on PC when the game launched in alpha on Steam Early Access in 2013; it went into open beta this past January. At its alpha launch, the PC version did not include microtransactions.
The PS4 beta will include items to purchase, and it will go free-to-play this winter when version 1.0 goes live.
