Google today made some improvements to its Google Hangouts application, chief among them new support for SMS messages.
With SMS now included, mobile device users can replace their native texting app with the Hangouts app. Hangouts gain the ability to share location data, GIFs, full-screen video calls, and the ability to fix webcam lighting. Google also announced new features for its Google+ photos product, which gains support for full-size backups from iOS devices, adjustable auto-enhance, HDR filter in Snapseed, and analog effects.
The Hangouts and Google+ apps will be updated with the new features shortly.
