Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4 will both receive mod support on PS4, publisher Bethesda has announced.

Furthermore, they’ll both receive updates to take advantage of the PS4 Pro.

Skyrim will receive mod support first upon the launch of its remastered edition on 28th October. Its PS4 Pro support will allow the game to be rendered in native 4k. It’ll look a little something like this:

Once that’s done, Bethesda will shift its focus to adding similar features to Fallout 4. It’s unclear if it will have 4k support, but it will have “enhanced lighting and graphics features”.

To create mods you’ll have to download Bethesda’s Creation Kit.

“You will not be able to upload external assets with your PlayStation 4 mods, but you will be able to use any assets that come with the game, as most mods do,” the publisher explained. “By creating a Bethesda.net account, you’ll be able to browse and try mods right from within the game.”

“We are excited finally to get modding to our PlayStation fans who have supported us for so long. Modding has been an important part of our games for over 10 years, and we hope to do even more in the coming year for all our players, regardless of platform.”
