Motion Computing today announced that the Motion C5v and F5v rugged Tablet PCs will feature pre-loaded Skype software, allowing Skype users to make video and voice calls, collaborate with colleagues, and use instant messaging and SMS/texting features directly from the tablet PCs. Motion will begin shipping Skype’s software on the C5v and F5v Tablet PCs later this year.
“Pre-loading Skype on the C5v and F5v Tablet PCs will enable users to take advantage of the integrated web camera, documentation camera and robust connectivity options to collaborate, regardless of location,” said Mike Stinson, Motion vice president of marketing. “Including Skype on our tablets enables seamless unified communications in business and healthcare environments for maximized collaboration and productivity.”

The Motion F5v and C5v Tablet PCs feature lightweight and mobile designs, rugged durability, outdoor displays, mobile broadband with GPS and powerful performance to manage multiple applications. Integrated features including a front-facing web camera and rear-facing documentation camera, a barcode scanner and a variety of accessories such as a mobile docks and tailored cases make the tablets ideal devices for both field and clinical mobile workforces.
The optional, integrated cameras and communications capabilities available with the Motion F5v and C5v Tablet PCs can be used for seamless unified communications and collaboration across business environments. From remote medical consultations to the structural documentation of commercial sites or vehicle repair documentation and analysis, the tablet PCs feature all of the tools required to collaborate across mobile environments.
