Skyfire Brings Flash Support to iOS Devices with VideoQ

Skyfire today released a new application for iOS devices that allows them to view Flash-based video content. The VideoQ app is not a browser, but works in conjunction with Safari and Opera on iOS devices to render Flash video.

In order to view the content, users must email the video’s web link from their browser to their VideoQ account. They can then open the VideoQ app to access the videos they’ve sent there. Skyfire envisions the VideoQ account as an online repository or hub for iOS users’ favorite videos, allowing them to share their favorites as well as search for videos in the VideoQ app itself.

Skyfire says the application optimizes the video content for delivery over wireless networks to help keep data usage down. The application is being offered for the introductory price of $1.99.
