ChromecastA recent update to the Chromecast software reveals that countries outside of the United States may soon be able to get their hands on the inexpensive smart TV option from Google. The update adds support for over 50 languages on the Android version and 20 on the iOS version as the device readies a wider launch. This supports previous information that Chromecast would be expanding after news surfaced in February about a possible March 1 release date for the device in the United Kingdom.

Techradar was able to confirm that Chromecast will be expanding to the United Kingdom after a retail spokesperson confirmed that the device would be available “very soon” at a hinted at price of £30 ($50). Pictures have surfaced from a suspected employee of Currys / PC World showing a display pack and an internal memo that indicates the device may go on sale as early as March 19.

The news comes not long after Sundar Pichai, Senior Vice President for Google who oversees Chrome, said during SXSW that the streamer would be coming to “many more countries” in as little as a few weeks according to The Next Web. He also offered that Chromecast has sold millions of units since its introduction, but offered no concrete sales figures.

In addition to adding more language support, the update also addressed bug fixes, added additional settings and improved support on Android-powered Samsung devices.
