Late-night TV host Seth Meyers has been tabbed as the next host of the Emmy Awards. Meyers, who has made his home on NBC at Saturday Night Live and his new late-show, will emcee the 66th Emmy Awards scheduled to air on August 25th. The announcement was made late Thursday evening.
Last year’s host, Neil Patrick Harris, did not receive strong enough reviews to be considered as a repeat host for the awards. The show will take place at The Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
It’s been a busy year for Seth Meyers already. The former head writer of Saturday Night Live took over hosting duties of Late Night after Jimmy Fallow took over The Tonight Show. Late Night with Seth Meyersfirst aired on February 24th on NBC.
