Samsung has put two compact cameras on sale in the US. Both the MV900F Smart and the previously-seen EX2F Smart are Wi-Fi enabled cameras and are similar in many respects, but while one prioritizes a lower price-point and higher resolution sensor, the other is claimed to have the lowest f-stop of a compact camera currently on the market.

The EX2F has a 12.4-megapixel, backside-illuminated CMOS sensor, an integrated 24mm zoom lens, and an f-stop of 1.4. It also has a 3-inch AMOLED display that can swivel out, and can record 1080p video at 30fps. The MV900F also boasts a 3.3-inch AMOLED panel, however it vertically flips as opposed to swinging to the side. It too can perform 1080p video recording, however it has a 25mm f/2.5-6.3 lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 16.3-megapixel sensor.

Both cameras can share to Facebook and Picassa through the Wi-Fi connection, take advantage of the Samsung MobileLink app, and have various onboard effects such as Beauty Palette, which can adjust the image with “make-up options” to add color or adjust the subject’s skin.

The EX2F is on sale for $500, while the MV900F will cost $350.
