Roku has added UK satellite broadcaster Sky’s pay-per-view video streaming service Now TV to its devices. Users will be able to select the app from the Roku Channel Store, and will see the service expanding its range from its current availability on computers, the Xbox 360, YouView, iOS devices and a number of Android portables.

Unchanged since launch, Now TV currently offers a £15 ($24) per month subscription for access to movies that Sky currently holds licenses to broadcast, as well as access to live streams of the Sky Movies package itself. At present, Sky claims to have blockbuster releases on its channels six months after their cinema runs end, with films being made available through Now TV and Sky Movies On Demand services a year before they appear on Netflix and LoveFilm Instant. Now TV also hopes to have the Sky Sports package integrated into the service in the next few months, followed by on-demand streaming of other core Sky channels and programming.

Roku currently offers two devices within the UK. The Roku LT with wireless connectivity only costs £50 ($80), while the 1080p-capable Roku 2 XS with wired connection options and games costs £100 ($160).
