Rogers Communications has unveiled the Rogers Handset Protection Guarantee program, available at no cost to Rogers Wireless customers. The program, a first to be offered at no additional cost in Canada, offers customers whose devices have been lost, stolen or broken a discount toward repair or the choice of a $0 or subsidized replacement device on their first out-of-warranty occurrence.

“Our customers want to stay in touch with their friends and families any time, any place, any where,” says Phil Hartling, Senior Vice President, Consumer Segment, Rogers Communications Inc. “Reliability at Rogers means our customers are always connected whether it’s with our network or on a working device. The Rogers Handset Protection Guarantee is a courtesy program designed to give our customers peace of mind that they’ll continue to be connected to what matters to them.”

Through the new, innovative Rogers Handset Protection Guarantee, Rogers customers with a lost, stolen or broken wireless device can call 1-888-ROGERS1 or visit a Rogers retail store to arrange to receive a courtesy device until a replacement or repair is available.

In the event of a lost or stolen device, Rogers will offer customers a discount toward the purchase of a new or refurbished replacement device. In the event of a broken device, a customer may choose to take advantage of the discounted replacement program or select to have their device repaired at a subsidized cost. Rogers will assess the damage, provide a quote and repair the device within 10 business days. In the event of lost, stolen or broken devices, customers will have the option to select a $0 replacement.

Customers must have an eligible device to participate. In particular, all new devices in the following categories are eligible including: Rogers voice devices, Rogers BlackBerry devices, smartphone/PDA devices and Rogers Rocket sticks. Replacement options will include both refurbished and new devices and include $0 options.

Joseph, the replacement program is a wonderful thing! Rogers is the only company in Canada that offers it.
Most companies will cancel an order if has been sitting in backorder mode for too long so that is normal but I think that they could have called you to let you know so you weren’t waiting around.
I was with Bell for 2 years and it was the worst experiance of my life. They sold me a phone that had been recalled and did not bother to call me and tell me. My phone stopped picking up signal in the area I live in and the rep I told this to, told me to move. Yes Joseph, that was their answer to my problem. I finally was able to get an upgrade and finally able to use the service I had been paying for after 2 years of paying without getting to use and they took the upgrade away and told me to go buy a new phone. I recieved no credits for my issues and one rep even told me that I did not deserve even a penny.

So my advice to you is: Everyone makes mistakes and if Rogers did they will fix it. I have never had an issues that wasn’t resolved by calling them. My entire family changed to them after the issues I had with Bell. Every company has their flaws but again Rogers is the ONLY one that offers the replacement program. If your phone does not work with Bell… My friend you are SOL because nothing will get done about it. It may take awhile but atleast the option is there with Rogers.
