Fujifilm has shown off its latest X-series camera with interchangeable lenses and retro styling. The X-M1, leaked last week, uses a 16.3-megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor, the same X-Trans sensor used in the X-E1, is able to change out its lens with others from the Fujifilm X-Mount range, and is the first to offer Wi-Fi connectivity.
Offering an ISO range of between 100 and 25,600 and using the EXR Processor II for image processing, the X-M1 has a maximum burst of 5.6 frames per second for up to 30 frames, with a shutter lag of 0.05 seconds. Able to boot up within 0.5 seconds, it is able to record full HD video at 30fps, has a 49-point autofocus facility, in-camera RAW processing, 8 filters and 5 simulation modes.
While it does not come with its own viewfinder, the rear three-inch display is able to be tilted up and down for high and low-angle shooting. On top is a hot shoe, a pop-up flash, and dual dial controls including one dedicated to mode selection . The built-in Wi-Fi connection will allow for images to be transferred to a nearby mobile device or uploaded to a social network.
The X-M1 will be going on sale in July in black and silver options for $700 for the body only or with an XC16-50mm (24-76mm) f/3.5-5.6 OIS lens for $800. A third version of the body in brown will be out in August, also at $700.
