CBS News rushed this morning to get out word it just landed House Speaker John Boehner live in studio on Sunday’s Face The Nation. The news division claims it will be Boehner’s first sit-down interview and first remarks since he made this morning’s surprise announcement he will resign his seat on October 30. Presumably, CBS News was given indication Boehner does not intend to do any other public appearances before Sunday’s sit-down. But, of course, the day is young…
At any rate, Sunday’s going to be quite a day for CBS News. The division also got Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump to do pre-taped interviews for the season starter of 60 Minutes. The pairing plays well with GOP White House hopeful Carly Fiorina recently telling the country’s most watched late-night host Jimmy Fallon that two men have a lot in common, describing Putin as someone who “actually can be quite funny and charming” but ultimately is “a KGB guy.”
