the-real-housewives-of-potomac-season-1-bioBravo has greenlit two more “Real Housewives” spinoffs, announcing “The Real Housewives of Potomac” and “The Real Housewives of Dallas.” Both new cities are set to debut in 2016.

“The Real Housewives of Potomac,” set in the affluent Maryland town, premieres on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 9:00 p.m. Housewives are Gizelle Bryant, Katie Rost, Karen Huger, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, Robyn Dixon, and Ashley Darby, all women who have fought for their places in the exclusive suburban society full of country clubs, prep schools, gated mansions and rolling hills by way of legacy or marriage. The diverse cast (pictured above) follows in the footsteps of Bravo’s highest-rated series, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” which features all African-American housewives.

Just up the river from the capital, “Potomac” gives Bravo another chance at a show in the Washington, D.C. area, as the cable net launched “The Real Housewives of D.C.” in 2010, which only last one season, marking the least successful series in the franchise.

“Dallas” has not yet been cast, though the Southern version of the “Housewives” will follow a group of sophisticated southern socialites who will bring drama to the city’s social scene. The series is said to give an exclusive look into glamorous galas, scandals egos to prove exactly why everything is bigger in Texas. The show is slated to bow later next year.

“‘The Real Housewives’ has become a global phenomenon that drives cultural conversation while consistently breaking ratings records,” said Shari Levine, exec vice president of current production for Bravo Media. “We’re happy to extend the franchise with Potomac and Dallas giving Bravo fans more of what they desire: stories of dynamic women who make us laugh, cry, cheer and experience unforgettable moments we can’t stop talking about.”

“‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’ is the show you never saw coming, and it’s going to take everyone by surprise,” said Andy Cohen, who serves as exec producer of “The Real Housewives” franchise, in addition to host of “Watch What Happens Live,” the cabler’s late-night talk show. “As for ‘The Real Housewives of Dallas,’ it’s a natural extension of the franchise with a Southern twist that ‘ya’ll’ will enjoy.”

Bravo launched “The Real Housewives” franchise with “Orange County” in 2006, and since has spun off domestically into the cities of New Jersey, New York City, Beverly Hills, Miami, D.C. and Atlanta. Internationally, “Housewives” has made its way to the likes of Athens, Israel, Cheshire and Melbourne — the latter two airs stateside on Bravo. “RHOC” just wrapped its 10th season, which ranked as the most-watched season in the series’ history.
