Razer Blade Re-Released in the US with Minor Changes

Razer is putting its gaming notebook back on sale, with some improvements. The Blade retains most of its original design, including the LCD multi-touch display and ten dynamic adaptive keys on one side that give extra customizable controls to games and applications. The major change seen in it is a complete reworking of its thermal system, using larger vents and specially designed heat pipes to divert high temperatures away from sensitive components.

Powered by an unannounced “future platform” Intel Core i7 processor with 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3 RAM, it uses an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M GPU outputting to a 17.3-inch Full HD LED backlit screen. Storage is supplied by a 64GB SSD and a 500GB hard disk. Three USB 3.0 ports, a combined microphone and headphone jack, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 provide extra connectivity, while integrated Digital 7.1 Surround audio can pipe sound to the built-in speakers or the HDMI port. The keyboard uses an Anti-Ghosting technology, making it more suitable for gaming, and a 2-megapixel webcam is also supplied to the 6.6 pound notebook.

The Blade will be available to pre-order from September 2nd for shipping by the end of the month, and will cost $2,500.
