quantico-priyanka-chopraLured in part by the state’s lucrative production-incentive program, “Quantico” will relocate to New York for its second season. With the move, the ABC drama will receive a tax credit that will cover nearly 30% of all aspects of production.

Parts of “Quantico,” a suspense drama about a rogue federal agent played by Priyanka Chopra, are set in New York. But the show’s pilot was shot in Atlanta. Shooting for the remainder of season one occurred in Montreal — although some aspects of the show, including its writing staff, were based in New York.

The New York state government estimates that the move will bring more than 200 jobs to the city. According to city officials, 46 episodic television shows are now being shot in New York, up from 29 one year ago.

ABC renewed “Quantico” last month along with a significant number of its current series. The series is the only new drama to have earned a renewal from ABC so far this season. Fellow freshmen “Blood and Oil,” “Wicked City” and “Of Kings and Prophets” have been effectively canceled. Another new drama series, “The Catch” still awaits word on a second season.

“Quantico” is produced by ABC Studios. Joshua Safran, Mark Gordon, Nicholas Pepper, Jake Coburn and Robert Pepper serve as executive producers.
