PS4 Remote Play Android Port Now Supports 4.2 Without Requiring A Root

PS4-Remote-PlayA selection of Android 4.2 devices can now support Sony’s PS4 Remote Play without the need to root your smartphone or tablet, thanks to a newly created APK. However if you would like to use the DualShockManager for your controller then a root is still required.

XDA member TheScriptKitty has created the PS4 Remote Play Android APK port that will add Remote Play support to non-Sony smartphones and tablets, allowing you to enjoy the fun of remote play without the need to root your device.
According to reports the new Android APK supports any Android device running KitKat 4.4 or above, with some users confirming that the PS4 Remote Play app also works with Android 4.2 and 4.3 smartphones. Click here to see the full instructions.
