Project Scorpio Has an Official Name – Xbox One X

Microsoft has officially unveiled the “Project Scorpio”console at E3 which will now known as the Xbox One X!

“Xbox empowers game developers large and small to create different types of games for every type of player,” head of Xbox Phil Spencer said. “Not only do we have the biggest cross-platform blockbusters on our platform, we’ve also scoured the world to bring our fans unique content from creative artists that capture the imagination.”

Microsoft claims the Xbox One X is the world’s most powerful with 40 percent more power than any other console and supports “true” 4K gaming. Xbox One X makes your existing library games better, with better textures, smoother frame rates and faster load times, even when being played on a 1080P TV. Xbox One X packs an 4K Ultra HD for Blu-ray along with support for HDR streamed content. on the sound front the new unit comes with Dolby Atmos support. Plus all Xbox One games and accessories are compatible.

Spencer also announced that Xbox will expand the Xbox One backward-compatibility library of nearly 400 popular Xbox 360 games to include original Xbox classics, starting Crimson Skies. Xbox also revealed that Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft, Resident Evil 7, Final Fantasy 15, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, Rocket League and dozens of other popular Xbox One games will receive free updates to take full advantage of the power of Xbox One X. Many of these titles will be enhanced to run in true 4K, and many will be available at Xbox One X launch.

The Xbox One X will debut world wide on November 7 for $499.
