Raxco Software's PerfectDisk 2008

Raxco Software announced today businesses are choosing  PerfectDisk 2008 over competitive offerings due to its multiple options for defragmenting disk drives and files.

PerfectDisk 2008 includes StealthPatrol, an automatic background processing and Screen Saver defrag.

But for very busy, mission-critical servers where there is little to  no idle time, PerfectDisk 2008 provides exclusive AutoPilot Scheduling, which allows users to defragment their drives at specific times, and even control CPU and I/O usage through threshold settings.

With the SMARTPlacement optimization strategy and exclusive Space Restoration Technology, PerfectDisk reduces the rate of fragmentation, which Raxco claim a multi-pass defragmenter is unable to do.

The engine also now uses 15% – 20% less memory consumption than PerfectDisk 8, which results in additional improved performance.

Selected Files Defrag feature, giving users the ability to select multiple files to defragment, rather than the entire drive. The ability also now exists to select files from the “Most Fragmented Files” list for immediate and automatic defragmenting.

Plus native support for 64-bit platforms provides improved performance and efficiency on 64-bit platforms.
