Pebble sells a smartwatch that helps smartphone owners manage incoming notifications, such as calls, texts, and emails. The updated companion application now pushes notifications from any app that is enabled within the iOS 7 Notification Center to the Pebble smartwatch. The new notifications include calendar appointments; Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and Flickr interactions; as well as updates from Flipboard, Dropbox, and other third-party apps. Beyond the improved iOS 7 integration, Pebble today also announced the availability of a new software developer kit for app writers. The Pebble SDK 2.0 brings with it new APIs for Javascript, accelerometer, data logging, and persistent storage.

Pebble believes these APIs will help app writers create new and interesting apps for interacting with and controlling Pebble smartwatches. According to Pebble, there are already more than 2,200 different apps and watch faces available for Pebble, and another 50 smartphone companion apps available in the iTunes and Google Play app stores.
