On Monday, video card maker Nvidia released updated drivers for 2010, 2009 and 2008-model Mac Pro units, along with a reminder that the units will need the previously-updated CUDA 5.5.28 driver for Mac in order to leverage the CUDA architecture in some Nvidia cards. The updated drivers bring support for the latest version of OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), and include an Nvidia Driver Manager preference pane.

The new Mac Pro drivers cover the Geforce GTX 680 and GTX 285; the GT 120 and 8800 GT; the Quadro K5000, K5000 for Mac and K4000 for Mac, and the Quadro FX 4800 and 5600 cards on the 2010 Mac Pro (5,1), 2009 Mac Pro (4,1) and 2008 Mac Pro (3,1) only. The driver, version 331.01.01, is a free 40MB download and also contains performance improvements and bug fixes for a wide range of applications.
